The Wasatch Mountains & Other Utah Scenes

Emerald Lake lies at the foot of one of Mount Timpanogos' many peaks. As the sun shone high overhead the little remaining snow continued to melt, adding more cold water to the already chilly lake.

A few minutes after this shot a mother goat and her kid began scaling the peak.
The sun peeked through the clouds for a short moment to light up Lake Blanche and the surrounding area below Sundial Peak.
Mount Timpanogos rises above frozen Deer Creek on a very chilly winter morning. a
Light breaks through the clouds to shine on the peak of majestic Mount Timpanogos amidst many beautiful autumn colors on the Cascade Meadows.
Mount Timpanogos looms over the Autumn colors at Cascade Meadows shortly before sunset.
A thin layer of mist floats across Payson Lake during an August sunrise.
Timpanogos peak and the saddle. This rock has probably been in this spot in the meadow for longer than I have been alive. For some reason this became very interesting to me - the contrast between the mountain that everybody looks at in awe, and the rock that is probably mostly ignored. I wanted to capture both of them in this shot.
These wildflowers were some of the last to hang on while autumn began creeping into the meadow at Mt. Timpanogos. Autumn comes early here, sometimes even in late August.
A chilly winter scene of Mount Timpanogos looming over the nearly untouched frozen Utah Lake. I say nearly because, as you can see, some animal dared to venture out over this frozen lake and left tracks in the snow. I was too nervous of thin ice to inspect the tracks enough to identify the animal. I can almost believe this whole area is uninhabited because of the mist over the lake hiding American Fork.
A small waterfall near the trailhead at Bell Canyon hike.
The north face of Mt. Olympus. The smog here did some interesting color changes on each mountain layer.
Greens Lake is a wonderful little lake located in the Uintahs near Flaming Gorge. I woke up earlier than everybody else during a family reunion to get this shot over the lake. It was a very refreshing morning.
Down town Salt Lake City against the beautiful Wasatch Range backdrop. Mount Olympus is probably the most iconic mountain in the range.
The sun sets over the cracked salty landscape of Utah's West Desert.
A small tree strains under the weight of snow during a foggy snowfall.
